Serological markers of heaptits B:

  1. HBs Ag:Use as a general markers of infection.
  2. HBs Ab:Use to document recovery.
  3. Anti HBc Ig M:Marker of acute infection.
  4. Anti HBc Ig G:Past or chronic infection.
  5. HBe Ag:Indication active replication of virus and there fore infectiveness.
  6. Anti Hbe:Virus no longer replicating.
  7. HBV-DNA:Indicates active replacation of virus,more accurate than HBe Ag especially in case of escape mutants.
