Hip-Knee-Ankle-Foot orthosis (HKAFO

Principle:

  1. This device is used on patients requiring more stability of the hip and lowerw torso, due to paralysis and weakness in addition to the lower extremity involvement.
  2. The brace will provide pelvic stability in several planes, from rotation, to side to side and front to back motions.

Indication:

  1. Whenever the muscles controlling the hip and its stability are strained or weak.
  2. HKAFO’s are used for patient with:

 

→Paraplegia

→Spinal bifida

→Recurent hip dislocation and other high neurological impairments
