Aeroplane splint


  1. Maintains the shoulder in abduction and external rotation.
  2. To immobilize a shoulder during healing from injury, such as a fractured humerus, or shoulder surgery.



  1. Erb’s palsy.
  2. Rupture of supraspinatus tendon.
  3. Paralysis of the deltoid.
  4. Abduction fracture of the neck of the humers.
