Subject: Prosthetics & Orthotics (New Curriculum)

Full marks: 50 Time: 2 hours

Answer any three (03) questions from Group A & Two (02) from Group B

All questions carry equal marks


Q: No: 01: Define prosthesis and orthosis. Mention the regional classification of an orthosis. Describe briefly the role of a physiotherapist on prescribing orthosis.

Q: No: 02: Define brace. Write the types of braces with their indication.

Q: No: 03: What are calipers? Which condition you can suggest a long leg brace? Describe briefly its clinical importance.

Q: No: 04: Write short notes on (any two): i) Plaster of paris ii) Parts of wheel chair iii) Myoclectric prosthesis


Q: No: 01: Write down the function of static and dynamic splint. Write shortly the maintenance of splint.

Q: No: 02: Describe different designs of standing frames for paraplegic and tetraplegics.

Q: No: 03: In kyphotic deformity which orthosis you can prescribe and why? How will you assess the patient before prescribe this?
