Group-A

Q: No: 01: a) Define sedative and hypnotic. Enumerate some clinically used sedative & hypnotics. Justify benzodiazipines are better hypnotic than barbiturates.

b) Mention the central pharmacological effects of morphine. Give its contraindicaitons. Name some anti-tussive drugs.

c) Classify muscle relaxants. Mention the indications and adverse effects of gluco corticoids.

d) Write short notes on: i) Lidocaine ii) Ketorolac

Q: No: 02: a) Enumerate neuromuscular blocking drugs. Mention the difference between suxamethonium and atracurium.

b) What do you mean by general anaesthesia? What are the objectives of general anaesthesia? Mention the drugs used in pre-anaesthetic medicine.

c) Enumerate antipyretic agents. How does diclifenac produce analgesi effects. Give its adverse effects.

d) Write short notes on: i) Levodopa ii) Phenobarbitone

Q: No: 03: a) Define and classify neurotransmitters. Explain the biosynthesis of acetylcholine.

b) What are the cholinergic drugs? How will you manage a case of organo phosphorus poisoning?

c) Classify antihypertensive drugs. What are the indications & adverse effects of ACE inhibitors?

d) Write short notes on: i) Iron poisoning ii) Indication of atropine

Q: No: 04: a) Define and classify vitamins. What are the funcitons of Vit-A? Meniton the effects of Vit-A deficiency.

b) Define minerals. What are the sources and functions of calcium?

c) Enlisted the drugs used in the treatment of bronchial asthma. Explain the mechanism of aciton and site effects of salbutamol.

d) Write short notes on: i) Promethazine ii) Metformin
